Robert "Bilbo" Walker at the New Roxy in Clarksdale this Wednesday

The New Roxy is located at 363 Issaquena Ave. in the New World District, the one-time business and cultural center of Clarksdale's African American community. The building served for many years as the New Roxy Theater, and eventually went into decline. In 2008 Robin Colonas, a merchant marine from Seattle, began renovating the building, and converted it into a performance space. Notably, the structure lacks a roof, so it serves as an "open air" venue, although the walls are well over twenty feet high. A very special place to see a show.

Here's a video of Walker playing at Cat Head Delta Blues & Folk Art in Clarksdale
